Creating Social Videos that Build Strong Connections
Today brands now more than ever are looking to connect with their audiences. While the pandemic has isolated us in many ways it has also given us new ways to connect and bridge gaps we didn’t know existed. Telling an authentic story that resonates with your audience is the fundamental root of building trust with your consumer base. The best brands in the world are deeply invested in storytelling. The H.E.R.O method is an approach we have used to bridge the gap for our audiences.
We believe the H.E.R.O method is the best way to implore empathy in brands. So what does the H.E.R.O method consist of:
H.
The HOOK is the first step. When sharing videos to algorithm-based social networks it’s important to stop users’ thumbs in the first 3-5 seconds of the video. You can have amazing ideas in the rest of your video, but if you can’t get them to stop and watch you're missing the main point. It is important to give a strong headline at the start of your video. Animating words on a text on-screen format is a great way to do this.
E.
Emotional connection is the strongest driver of human behavior. Does the content you are sharing stimulate viewers hearts.
R.
Response is the immediate stimuli we are hoping to invoke from the emotion we created. When done correctly viewers should have a strong urge to act upon the hook we presented at the begining.
O.
Every story has an ending and with every story there should be an outcome. If the story we have told correctly follows this framework we should leave our audience with a positive feeling.
